I'm rocking the 3" bada booms and really like them. I cant really help you for stems though.

Also, I'm not in Kingston. I went back home for the summer.

What was the link to the lowering of the argyle blog. I need to see the kind of spacers the guy used since mine got crushed.

You don't have to but if you don't your fork will just be a lot stiffer than it should be because you are compressing it already.

I don't have my new fork yet, but hopefully sometime this week I will get one of them.

One thing you should take note about garden hose washers is that they can get crushed, which is what happened to mine inside my pike, so I have to take them out now. I still have a bunch left over too, I don't know how much you want to lower it but it should definitely be enough.

-tom wrote

I used garden hose washers to lower my fork. The problem is you're getting the 318 so you would have to cut the spring as well. Air forks are just better to work with for lowering. I would be able to lower the 318 but you would have to supply the dremel.

The fork is lowered to about 65mm but I wouldn't be selling it. I'd keep it as a spare if I ever got bored of the rigid, I'd throw the pargyle right back on.

take a good sharp pair of scissors and cut the top and bottom off of the can. this should leave you about 4 inches to use. then cut the can up the side so you can open it flat. depending on how large you want the shim you can trim the can down. with out cutting any of the width from the can, wrap it around the post label side out using the natural curve of the can. wrap it as tight as you can and hold it with one hand. then try to slide it in to the frame. if it is too big, take the can off and trim a little at a time until it slides into the frame. (if you twist the post in the same direction as the can while you slide it in it is less likely to snag) the bigger the shim the better the hold, as for cans i drink coke, so that's what i use. let me know how it works out.

what i did for my seatpost was just tape the shit out of it. I also cut down the seattube cause it comes extra long and slamming the seat is made easier and cleaner.

well what i did was cut the top and bottom off the root beer can, cut it down the middle and hammered out all the creases(sp?) i wrapped it tightl around the seatpost and taped it lightly. than i would take another can and cut it into strips. i would stick those strips in between the can and the seatpost until it would slid in properly. This is not permenant for me because i have a new seat/post coming soon because it still slids. although if your seat slids in nicely and does not wiggle, than it can be permenant
